Las Vegas Elite Concrete A residential walk is four inches thick and the whole job is width, fall and joint spacing, all of which are set before any concrete arrives. Free on-site quote, usually within two working days.

Thirty-six inches is a comfortable width for a path to a front door and forty-eight lets two people walk side by side. Anything narrower than thirty reads as a service path.
Four inches is standard. Where a walk crosses a driveway it becomes part of the driveway and gets the driveway's thickness, because that is where a vehicle will cross it.
There is no frost to design for in the valley, so the base under a walk is doing a drainage job over caliche rather than a frost job.
Sub-base is compacted crushed stone, four to six inches, which on a walk is as much about stopping frost and moisture movement as about load.
Cross fall of about a quarter inch per foot to one side, so water leaves the walk rather than standing on it. Along a house the fall goes away from the building.
Control joints go in at intervals roughly equal to the width, which gives square panels. A four foot walk gets a joint every four to five feet, and that is also why sidewalk panels look square.
Public sidewalk in the right of way is a different job with the city's own detail, thickness and finish requirements, and that gets confirmed before quoting rather than after.
Small linear jobs carry a higher per-foot rate than large slabs because the setup, forming and finishing time per square foot is greater. Combining a walk with a driveway or patio pour is meaningfully cheaper than doing it alone.
Walks run $7-$12 per square foot, and the rate drops if the walk is poured in the same visit as a driveway or patio.
A walk poured with no cross fall holds water in a thin film, which in a cold snap is a sheet of ice at the front door, and in a hot climate is a permanent stain line.
Monsoon rain in July and August arrives fast onto ground that does not absorb it. A walk with no cross fall becomes part of the water's path across the property.
We cover Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas and the wider Clark County valley, including and 34 more areas.
Thirty-six inches minimum, forty-eight if you want two people to walk together.
Roughly the same as the width, so the panels come out square. On a four foot walk, every four to five feet.
On your own property, usually not. In the public right of way, yes, and the city sets the detail.
